One for my Scottish friends! My forever job-goals publisher are hiring an editorial assistant up in Edinburgh. At least one year’s experience of the editorial and production processes of a trade book publisher is desirable (insert eye rolling here). Apply to Fiona Weir at recruitment@canongate.co.uk. And also pls send me all the proofs when you get the job. Thanks.

Publicity Assistant at Little, Brown

Editorial Assistant at Penguin Classics

Is there a better publishing job than this? This has to be everyone’s dream job, right? Please apply and please get it because the thought of it is making me want to weep a little bit. You’ll be providing full administrative and editorial support to a Senior Commissioning Editor and Creative Editor, and liaising w/ translators, academics, agents and internal departments. You will undertake research and other projects, draft copy, manage the editorial progress of manuscripts, co-ordinate with other departments, contribute ideas and generally ensure that the publishing process runs smoothly. Apply to Jessica Harrison via the PRH jobs board in the link above. As thanks for me bringing this to your attention I’ll take the full clothbound classics collection and I want you to give Coralie Bickford-Smith my love letter to her. A small ask I reckon.
