Good afternoon good afternoon are we all doing well?
The chaps at Elwin Street Productions are back and this time they’ve got money for you! It’s a three month part time design position, and I’ll just copy and paste their job spec below:
Design Intern/Assistant for Book Publishing (Print)
Elwin Street Ltd, a leading independent co-edition publisher in Clerkenwell, London, is looking for a graphic design graduate with previous experience of working in colour-illustrated printed book design and layout, preferably with one year’s experience of working in InDesign for print publication. As a co-edition publisher, we expect all candidates to have an understanding of producing complex, illustrated books to the highest standard, on time and on budget.
The candidate must demonstrate key understanding of all aspects of printed book layout, design and production, including picture research and design to brief on both covers and interior spreads, as well as image and file sizes, knowledge of CMYK printing, and packaging files for colour reproduction and printing.
We work in InDesign CS6. You must demonstrate understanding of Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, picture agencies, photo correction and manipulation, website design and management, and e-book production.
The successful candidate will be highly creative, with an active portfolio. We are a small team with multiple skillsets, and our ideal candidate will bring something beyond technical expertise.
This is a part-time paid position at £50 per day, three to four days a week for a three-month period with possibility to extend. Applicants to start as soon as possible.
To apply please email a CV, cover letter and a link to a portfolio/website with examples of your work to Silvia Langford firstname.lastname@example.org
