Michael O’Mara are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Office Administrator to join their busy London office. As well as general receptionist duties, responsibilities include producing sales material, answering enquiries, maintaining office supplies and generally liaising between departments to ensure the smooth running of the company. This is a varied and busy role that requires a bright, dynamic applicant who is happy multi-tasking. Office experience is an advantage. Publishing graduate preferred.

Editorial Assistant @ The British Museum
In this role, you will work closely with colleagues to research, source and negotiate fees for images required for publishing projects, including liaising with the Museum’s Photographic and Imaging department to review existing files and order new photography. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your editorial/publishing career.

The ideal candidate will have worked in publishing/media/a related area, with experience of picture research, proofreading and copyediting, as well as familiarity with design software. Educated to A-Level, or equivalent, you will have demonstrable editorial or publishing experience in the heritage sector or media industry.

With a keen attention to detail and the ability to work on your own initiative, you will be a conscientious and highly organised individual, who can manage varied workloads in order to meet tight deadlines. Digital Publishing and Marketing Assistant @ Nosy Crow
The role of the Digital Publishing and Marketing Assistant is to work with the Business Development Manager and Commissioning Editor on Nosy Crow’s digital publishing, audio publishing, digital marketing, and events programmes. The Digital Publishing and Marketing Assistant may be expected to work on a range of projects at every stage of development, from concept through to delivery, and is expected to work within an agreed timeframe.
Key responsibilities and tasks:
Working on Nosy Crow’s audio publishing programme at every stage, including scheduling, planning, production, editing and publication
Content creation and audience engagement across the Nosy Crow blog and other social media and digital marking channels (including Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, Mailchimp and issuu)
Updating and managing the Nosy Crow website
Working on Nosy Crow’s events programme at every stage of development
Working on Nosy Crow’s digital publishing programme (including apps, ebooks, and enhanced ebooks) at every stage of development
Providing administrative support to the Digital department
Providing some general office administrative support
Key skills, characteristics and capabilities:
A keen interest in children’s books, and in digital publishing and marketing
Strong time management skills
Excellent attention to detail
An enthusiastic user of social media
Highly organised, with excellent administrative abilities
Comfortable using content management systems (e.g. WordPress)

Admin Assistant @ Hachette UK Group IT
As part of the Hachette Group IT department, the Solutions team is responsible for delivering systems-based solutions to the wider HUK business.  Reporting to the Enterprise Programme Manager, working with the other members of the Solutions team, you will be responsible for working in the following areas:
  1. General Administration tasks
  2. Supporting the project management system, Clarizen
  3. Conducting testing on some key systems, eg the Digital Assets Management system

The role provides an excellent opportunity to learn about IT and business processes that it supports.

Training will be provided.

A minimum 6 months’ admin experience is required, providing support in a busy team environment.

Editorial Assistant @ Hodder Education (Banbury)

The editorial team in Banbury produces a range of A-level and GCSE publications across print and digital media. The Editorial Assistant will support the team and take responsibility for a range of editorial and administrative tasks, including proof checking, management of reprint corrections and eBook proofs, photo research and clearing permissions.

The ideal candidate will have education to A-level or beyond, an excellent eye for detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines while juggling multiple projects. Some editorial experience would be an advantage.
