Reception and Switchboard Operator @ Hachette UK

The ideal candidate must be professional and reliable, with a real focus on customer care and teamwork.  Previous experience of computerised switchboard operation is essential, as are good organisation skills.

Main duties involve welcoming visitors to our building, arranging for guests to be collected from reception promptly or directing guests within the building to be met by their host, answering and transferring incoming calls, monitoring usage of keys and passes, maintaining the appearance of the reception area.  The working hours are based on late and early shifts on an alternate weekly basis.

Editorial Admin Assistant @ Headline & Quercus (awesomeeeeee)

The successful applicant will work with the Operations and Editorial teams to enter titles onto the system, amend and correct existing bibliographic data, optimise metadata, and manage a number of backlist cleansing tasks across several non-fiction and fiction lists.

Candidates should be very well organised, good communicators and able to manage changing priorities and a multi-task workload.

Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within publishing, as well as experience working with data systems, would be an advantage.  Candidates should be proficient in Excel and have a keen interest in books and publishing.

Editorial Assistant, Poetry @ Faber & Faber (er yes plz) 

You will need to be highly motivated, with outstanding organisational skills, ideally some experience in publishing and an understanding of poetry.

You will be expected to support the Poetry Editor on a daily basis, including administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, answering telephone calls, liaising with different departments (such as pre-press, marketing, publicity and sales), and ensuring the smooth running of the poetry list (managing schedules, reading submissions, liaising with authors, writing catalogue and jacket copy).

You will manage select typescripts from handover to publication, establishing and maintaining schedules, and managing authors and freelancers to ensure the production of our poetry books runs to time.

You will be required to attend events, representing the poetry department and the Poetry Editor as needed. We are looking for someone who has the talent to make a persuasive case for the poetry list both in and out of house, and with the creativity and invention to help us build a vibrant community of readers in print and online.
