Sales Administration Assistant @ Headline 

Reporting to Headline’s Sales Director, you will play a key part in the smooth running of the department, and will be responsible for recording and processing orders for a variety of UK customers and for helping to produce and distribute sales and marketing material to the wider team.

This role requires great attention to detail, exceptional numerical and communication skills, and a sound knowledge of all computer packages.  You will need to be extremely efficient, able to work on your own initiative and have a determination to get the job done.

PA to Group Sales Director @ Hodder & Stoughton

You will be responsible for diary management; coordinating meetings; travel bookings and office management and will also need to create pitch presentations, support the sales teams and develop positive working relationships with contacts at all levels.

Needs at least a years’ office experience so hopefully you have that!

Editorial Assistant @ Aurum Press (Quarto)

Arum Press are looking for someone who will be able to demonstrate the potential to become a great editor: not only first class written skills, but a strong visual sense, an ability to solve problems, to work within a team, to go the extra mile. The successful candidate will also have the following skills:

  • Creative – able to conceive. pitch and develop new book ideas
  • Organised – help support Editors/Publisher with WIP admin, catalogues, metadata
  • Project Manager – assume responsibility for NTGs, paperback conversions
  • Strong Communicator – liaise with production, QFR, SMP colleagues

    This is an ideal entry level role for a bright, organised, creative individual who can learn fast and open to getting involved in all aspects of international illustrated book publishing. (that sounds like us!!!!)

Product Assistant @ Scholastic

You will provide key support to the Product Team in the creation of product ranges for Clubs and Fairs that deliver to agreed targets. You will be proofing print and web materials, liaising with inventory teams on the day-to-day management of the supply chain, and working with suppliers to ensure the business has the most up to date information on relevant product.

You must be creative, numerate and have an excellent eye for detail as accuracy is essential for this role. You must also be proficient in all Microsoft packages especially in Excel and web processes and have an interest in and knowledge of children’s books.

Editorial Assistant @ Scholastic (OMGOMG SO EXCITING) 

You will assist and support the Publisher and Non-Fiction and Licensing team to ensure that list targets are achieved in an efficient and timely manner. You will be a self-motivated, highly organised individual who deals efficiently and effectively with a wide range of administrative tasks.

Educated to a degree level (ouch) you must be an individual who has good copywriting skills, meticulous proofreading, an excellent eye for detail and the ability to work with a broad spectrum of people.

Publicity Assistant @ Scribe UK 

(this job is amazing and is part time so peerrrf if you’re still studying) 

This is a 3-day per week role, paid at £19,552 pro rata (London Living Wage). Ideally, office days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, however some flexibility may be possible, and there will occasionally be weekend and evening work to cover events.

Duties include:

•    Updating press clippings and contact databases.
•    Producing press releases for books.
•    Compiling media mailing lists.
•    Generating media interest to place reviews, features, extracts and interviews.
•    Organising launches and accompanying authors to interviews and events.
•    Co-ordinating giveaways.
•    Posting to the website and social media.
•    Administrative support as required.
•    Occasional manuscript reports.

We are looking for applicants with excellent written and verbal communication, the ability to self-organise, and an indefatigable enthusiasm for books and publishing. A varied media diet and an interest in narrative nonfiction and literary fiction are helpful. Good judgment and good humour are essential. (we deffo have that)
