11/05 Internships

So this has already been a big week, hasn’t it? I’m sure you’ve all seen, but JB just got bought by Bonnier, so trying to work out how all of that is going to work, plus finally put out the cover letter post yesterday – I’m already exhausted! But we must soldier on, and so here are your internships for the week!

Paid

Arcturus Publishing have a three month digital publishing and marketing internship! You’ll be involved in coordinating their new digital list, contributing to their social media platforms, getting involved with marketing campaigns and just generally getting loads of great experience in digital publishing.

Applicants should have “an excellent education background (don’t worry, I’m sighing and shaking my head too) and a keen interest in digital publishing. The successful candidate will also have strong writing skills and knowledge of web technologies and Photoshop.”

Apply with CV and cover to jobs@arcturuspublishing.com with ‘Intern’ as the subject heading!!

Hurst Publishers are offering a 6 month paid editorial and marketing internship through Creative Access! Because their books cover African Studies, Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies, South Asian Studies, War and Conflict Studies, History and Development, they’re after someone with an interest in global affairs who preferably has a degree in politics, history or language (but this isn’t essential). Also you’ve got to be BAME, obviously! Apply via the Creative Access site here.

Unpaid

Anthem Press offer flexible internships depending on what suits your needs. It can be in editorial, sales, marketing, publicity, or design and the length of your stay will be negotiated if you’re selected. To apply, email your cover letter, CV, details of which internship you’d like to do, details of your interest in publishing and what you hope to achieve from a placement to jobs@anthempress.com.

Melville House are also open to applications for interns; their placements last 2-3 months and they ask for you to be there 2-3 days a week. Send your cover, CV, references and the dates you are available to Zeljka Marosevic at zm@mhpbooks.com. In your letter you should show some knowledge of Melville House and the books we publish. Serious side-eyeing at the fact this is unpaid, considering their backlist, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  1. Just came across this blog! Great resource. Do you sometimes post virtual internships as well, or do you not see many of those?

    Thanks in advance!
